CIVA Meeting
  Before the official publication of a detailed report showing the decisions taken during the CIVA meeting which held in Prague on Saturday 10th November 01, Cap Aviation presents a preview of the synthesis of the information likely to be of interest for our community.

1. The President of the FAI informed us of a plan of change in the organization of the World Air Games. The FAI foresees to do a selection among the most spectacular disciplines.

2. The deadline for the sending of the nominations is postponed from the 1st June to the 1st September.

3. The FAI catalogue will be entitled Aresti as a mark of homage to the inventor of the genuine catalogue of figures. The FAI remains the owner of the copyright and responsible of its future evolutions.

4. The "sanction fees" are brought to $ 75 for the continental championship and $ 100 for the world championship. The registration fees will have to be directly paid to the CIVA before the competitions without passing in transit through the organization committees.

5. Creation of a post of vice-president for the finance.

6. Passing of a new A form for the free programs.

7. Additional precision brought for the criterions of judgement of the framework note (positioning).

8. Rejection of the CAP231 and the EXTRA 260 from the list of aircraft authorized for the advanced category.

9. The CIVA bureau is no more authorized to add aircraft on this list before the decision of the plenary assembly.

10. Introduction of four new figures numbered from 1.32 to 1.35.

11. Possibility to get an agreement of the changes to the rules considered as not adapted during a competition on condition of the unanimous agreement of the members of the jury and the CIVA delegates present in the premises.

12. The judges have no more the authorization to attend without their assistant (it is no more possible to choose an assistant at the last moment).

13. The program '4' is re-integrated into the programs of the intercontinental championship from 2003.

14. The criterion of judgement for the tail slide changes : the judge has to notice that the aircraft flights back at least from half a fuselage.

15. New rolling circles are authorized for the composition of unknown programs.

16. The rules are refined in order to avoid the introduction of snap rolls at high speed in the unknown programs (families 7 & 8).

17. The program proposed by Great Britain is accepted for the next European championships in Lithuania.

18. The CIVA gets 5 applications for the 2003 World Championship :

-Spain, in Burgos
-Italy, in Rivolto
-The Ukraine, in Kiev
-The USA (place still unknown)
-Russia (place still unknown)

And an application plan as for Sweden for the AEAC 2003.

19. Further to the questions raised by the assembly about the WGPA, the President of the FAI informs that he is not in favor of a "flying circus" and that the contract between the FAI and the WGPA is to be re-negotiated this winter.

Mike Heuer adds that the rules, the choice of the judges and the selection of the pilots have still to be in charge of the CIVA.
